Cat C Practical Course Prices

Our Cat C practical training packages are designed for drivers looking to obtain their LGV Category C / HGV Class 2 licence.

Our C1 and D1 courses are carried out from our Aylesbury DVSA-approved site.

Courses starting from our Watford location may carry an additional £100 plus VAT surcharge, subject to current availability and terms.

A 16-hour course delivered over 2–3 days, including test time and test fee.

This course is designd for someone with little or no experience of using larger vehicles on the road.

This course is suitable for someone who already has some experience of using vans or larger vehicles on the road and is confident that they can safely reverse with some additional training.

The course provides an opportunity to brush up on your driving skills and prepare for your C1 or D1 practical test.

Alongside our main driving courses, we also offer individual CPC and medical services.

Theory Module 1

This includes access to written training material, including resources covering the Highway Code and Know Your Traffic Signs.

CPC Module 2

Re-Tests

Practical Test Re-Training & Re-Tests

All re-tests require a minimum of 3 hours of additional training plus the applicable test fee for both Module 3a and Module 3b tests.

This is because you need to refresh and recap your learning before returning for your test.

The vehicle is also required for the test, meaning the trainer and vehicle cannot be used for other training during this period.

This is an industry-standard approach to re-test training.

Pass Protection

Protect Your HGV Test Investment

Pass Protection: £399.00

Our Pass Protection option provides two free re-tests, potentially saving you up to £515.00, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.

Pass Protection is available for both Module 3a and Module 3b tests.

It must be purchased as an add-on to your course fees at the time of booking.

We understand that every driver has different levels of experience. That's why we offer different training packages.

Complete Beginner

If you have little or no experience with large vehicles, our Platinum or Gold courses may provide the additional training and confidence you need.

Some Large-Vehicle Experience

If you have experience driving 7.5-tonne vehicles, buses or large vans, our Silver course may be more suitable.

Experienced Driver

If you already have considerable experience driving large vehicles or reversing trailers, our Bronze course may be suitable.

The amount of training you require depends on your existing driving experience and ability. We reserve the right to refuse the use of our vehicles for a practical test if we believe a candidate has not reached the required standard to safely complete the test. The responsibility for assessing your own ability and choosing an appropriate training package remains with the person booking the course.

Our instructors will provide professional guidance, but years of driving experience do not automatically mean that a candidate is test-ready.

Our aim is to ensure that candidates are sufficiently prepared to drive safely and meet the standard required for the relevant DVSA test.
